CAPPADOCIA, TURKEY (NOV 2015)
Have you ever been in love with a country you have never been to? That’s what I felt about Turkey and when I finally got a chance to visit, I fell all over again ❤
Sorry for that cheesy opening LOL but Turkey is really my favorite travel destination. It ticks all the boxes of my idea of a perfect trip: amazing landscapes, interesting history and culture, easy public transportation, dazzling architecture and arts, (relatively) safe for solo female travelers, quite affordable, and most of all, an exciting culinary scene!
None of my friends has ever been to Turkey, which is great because I got first dibs LOL and oh, it felt like I just visited an exotic destination. I have no one to ask so I did a lot research from reading blogs (I highly recommend Turkey Travel Planner), asking for itinerary advice in TripAdvisor forums, to watching all of Rick Steves’ Europe Turkey episodes on Youtube. On my first visit, I decided to do the typical Istanbul – Cappadocia – Pamukkale – Ephesus – Istanbul route. I would recommend this route to any first-timer in Turkey too.
Cappadocia (or Kapadokya) is the ultimate reason (aside from all the delicious Turkish foods :P) why I’ve always wanted to visit Turkey. I’m so fascinated by its unique, almost-unreal landscape so this is where I should start my Turkish adventure.
Hot Air Balloon over Goreme
This is my first hot air balloon ride ever and Kapadokya is probably the best place in the world to experience this. This is easily the highlight of my trip!
Cappadocia has so much to offer but I only had 3 days. So I’m just gonna share with you the pictures of the places I’ve visited. Click (or in other cases, swipe) on the gallery thumbnails to view larger image.
